Israel, with its stunning coastline along the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea, offers a diverse array of beautiful beaches that cater to every beachgoer's preferences. From sandy stretches perfect for sunbathing to vibrant underwater worlds ideal for snorkeling, Israel's beaches are a true haven for relaxation and water-based activities. In this article, we invite you to explore some of the most recommended beaches in Israel, each offering a unique blend of natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and cultural experiences.

#1 Habonim-Dor Beach

Habonim-Dor Beach is renowned for its unspoiled natural beauty, characterized by rocky cliffs, golden sand, and clear turquoise waters. The beach is nestled within the Habonim Nature Reserve, a protected area that encompasses a diverse coastal ecosystem, including sandy beaches, rocky reefs, and Mediterranean scrubland. It is quite possibly the most stunning piece of coastline in Israel, Habonim-Dor is the ultimate seaside location. Located only an hour’s drive from Tel Aviv, the area boasts a clear blue sea, vast expanses of sand, a lagoon, loads of little bays and a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere.

As the double-barreled name suggests, Habonim-Dor is made up of two beach strips, but these are pretty much treated as one. You can stroll from one to another, set up camp for a night or check out nearby ruins.

#2 Tel Aviv - Gordon Beach

Of course, the Tel Aviv beach, which stretches over 10km along the Mediterranean is definitely a favorite. Divided into over ten individual beaches, each of Tel Aviv’s beaches has its own character and crowd. With its soft golden sand, clear turquoise waters, and an array of amenities, it attracts both locals and tourists alike. Whether you're looking to sunbathe, take a dip in the sea, or engage in beach sports, Gordon Beach offers something for everyone. While the city has a number of open air gyms available for public use, this Tel Aviv beach has it all from volleyball courts to sports equipment for rent on the tayelet nearby. It’s also immensely popular, so be prepared to arrive early and fight off crowds.

#3 Palmachim Beach

Palmachim Beach is situated within the Palmachim Nature Reserve, a protected area that encompasses a variety of ecosystems, including dunes, cliffs, and rich coastal flora and fauna. The untouched natural beauty of this beach is a testament to its preservation efforts, offering visitors a glimpse into Israel's unique coastal landscapes. With stunning low cliffs to the south and picturesque views of Tel Aviv to the north, Palmachim Beach is a secluded escape close to it all. With plenty of room for beach sports as well as ample opportunities to find that quiet sandy spot. Pack a picnic and enjoy a stunning sunset accompanied by the serenity of this magical spot.

#4 Dolphin Beach, Eilat

Perhaps the most famous beach in Israel, the Dolphin Beach in Eilat, located on Israel's Red Sea coast, is a beloved destination that offers a unique and enchanting experience for visitors. Known for its crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life, Dolphin Beach provides an opportunity to swim and interact with playful dolphins in their natural habitat. It’s important to note that the dolphins are not coerced to interact with humans. It is not guaranteed that you’ll swim with them, but we think just watching them is worth the fee!

#5 Mosh’s Beach

if the name Mosh rings a bell, you’re not mistaken: the beach belongs to Israeli singer Mosh Ben-Ari.

The Sinai-style beach is all about lounging around, enjoying food and some drinks to the sounds of reggae music and feeling far, far away. Mosh's Beach provides easy access to an array of amenities, including beachside cafes, restaurants, and shops, right near the border with Egypt. Whether you're looking to relax on a sunbed, play beach volleyball, or indulge in delicious seaside cuisine, Mosh's Beach is a dynamic destination that captures the essence of Tel Aviv's beach scene.

Just bear in mind that there’s no lifeguard service, so perhaps stick to all the amenities the beach itself has to offer.

When visiting these or any other beaches, make sure to clean after your visit and to not interrupt the wild animals living in the ocean and beaches.

Enjoy!
